On a vibrant day in the heart of Kanpur, the Youth Works Association proudly hosted “GrowthOn,” an electrifying event designed to showcase the innovation and dynamism of local startups. With the tagline “SHOW | SCALE | SHINE” this event aimed to inspire, connect, and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit thriving within esteemed educational institutions such as IIT Kanpur, CSJMU, and HBTU.

The event’s significance was heightened by the presence of distinguished guests, including the Chief Guest, Shri Brajesh Pathak ji, Deputy Chief Minister of Kanpur. Joining him was the District Magistrate of Kanpur, Shri Vishak G. Iyer. Their attendance underscored the importance of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.

The event was also graced by the Honorable Speaker at the Vidhan Sabha of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Satish Mahana ji who enlightened us with his powerful speech and, his keen insights on the growth of industries.

The day was filled with insights from industry leaders who shared their wisdom and experiences through keynote speeches. Mr. Parekh, Managing Director of Selzer Group, enlightened the audience with his vision, while Mr. Akash Goenka, Director of Goldie Group, shared valuable perspectives. The event also featured Mr. Ashim Jolly, a distinguished Venture Capitalist from Aperio Partners, Mumbai, shed light on the investment landscape for startups.

In addition to these illuminating talks, GrowthOn hosted engaging panel discussions featuring heads of government institutions such as MSME and DGFT. These sessions offered attendees valuable insights into the support and resources available for startups to thrive in today’s competitive market.

One of the highlights of the event was a thrilling pitch competition, reminiscent of the popular TV show Shark Tank. Local startups showcased their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit to a panel of esteemed judges. The startups that impressed the most were awarded with trophies, and the judges included Mr. Ankit Agawal, founder of Phool.co; Mr. Vikram Agarwal, partner at ASK Private Wealth; and Mr. Garg, Managing Director of ACI Workwear Pvt. Ltd.

The event reached its crescendo with powerful closing remarks from Mr. Vijay Kapoor and Mrs. Geetan Tandon. Their words resonated with the audience, emphasizing the importance of nurturing and supporting the local startup ecosystem.

“GrowthOn” was an inspiring and educational event that not only celebrated the innovation of local startups but also highlighted the immense potential that lies within the youth of Kanpur.
