Wolf of Dalal Street

Youth Works Association (YWA) believes in turning learning into experiences. Wolf of Dalal Street, held at Mocha on 22nd August 2026, brought the world of markets, negotiation, and investment to life. 

Round 1 – Strategic Thinking 

The first round tested strategic thinking and communication. Teams presented their views on pre-decided topics, followed by a challenging Q&A from fellow participants and the organisers. 

Round 2 – The Art of the Deal 

The second round shifted from the bulls and bears of the market to the negotiation table. Teams were paired as buyers and sellers and tasked with negotiating a solution to rising raw material prices amid volatile market conditions. 

The objective was simple: negotiate smart, adapt quickly, and create value for both sides. 

Round 3 – The Investment Challenge 

The final round put every team’s financial instinct to the test. 

With ₹1 Crore in virtual capital, teams had to build and manage a portfolio across equities, cash, fixed deposits, commodities, and real estate. 

Over a simulated 8-year market cycle, the teams navigated changing conditions as the bulls charged ahead and the bears took control. Annual market movements revealed the changing value of each portfolio, with the team achieving the highest final valuation emerging victorious. 

Beyond the Numbers 

Wolf of Dalal Street was more than a competition. It was a test of strategy, financial acumen, negotiation, risk-taking, and decision-making under pressure. 

With every round bringing up a new challenge, participants experienced the thrill of making the right call when the market could turn bullish or bearish in an instant.
